Not all deck tiles are the same. The key to supreme outdoor deck tile durability is the protective, semigloss cap layer baked into the composite slats during manufacturing. It makes the outdoor floor resistant to staining, scuff marks, fading from UV light and mould. Matte-finish deck tiles on the other hand do not confer such benefit, so caution is needed when selecting a capped composite. For best results over time, the deck tile needs to be somewhat glossy at the very least.
